Data export format

The layout and schemas of a full Gripz export, format version 1.2. Use it to move your data into another tool, a warehouse or your own archive.

Message bodies are always included

An export holds every conversation with its messages, internal notes, events and attachments. You can export on every plan including Free, during suspension, after cancellation, and for 90 days after a workspace is closed. Export is never charged.

Archive structure

One ZIP archive. Records are JSON Lines, with CSV copies of contacts and reports, and help center articles as Markdown.

Fields of conversations/messages.jsonl
Field	Type	Notes
id	string	Stable across exports and the same ID the API uses.
conversation_id	string	Joins to conversations.jsonl.
author	object	type is contact, teammate or ai, plus the author's id.
body	string	The full message as plain text. Always present. body_html holds the formatted version.
attachments	array	Attachment ids. Each matches a file in attachments/.
created_at	string	ISO 8601, UTC.

attributes	object	Every custom attribute, with its original type.

Versioning

The manifest names the format version. Fields can be added in a minor version. Nothing is renamed or removed without a new major version and 18 months of overlap.
